THE GREY AREA 2003 – onwards
Originally developed for an exhibition called ‘The Artist as Entrepreneur' that looked at the social ambitions of art practice. I designed a hypothetical, temporary public building and/or sculpture to promote an initiative of my own devising.
‘The Grey Area' marks out a course of activity where the illicit thrill of antisocial and irresponsible behaviour can be just as easily achieved if nudged onto the right side of the law. Spying on people, turning a blind eye, lying and sleeping in Libraries are just some of the ways to exploit this loophole.
